Judge Thomas Russell of US District Court in Paducah
refused to issue and injunction today that would have Zion Harmon elgible to
play immediately at Marshall County High School, saying, “after
analyzing and balancing the four required factors, this Court reluctantly finds
that the requested preliminary injunction is not warranted in this matter.”
The case continues in court and an appeal is possible. But time is running out. District tournament play begins on February 18.
Harmon would be able to play if Marshall reaches the Sweet Sixteen since a year will have passed since he last played for Adair County.
Harmon played for Adair County last year and Bowling Green two years ago. He averaged 32.7 points per game last year. ESPN lists him as the nation's top point guard in the class of 2021.
