Murray State football signs 18 players


Murray State University and head football coach Chris Hatcher announced the signing of 18 players to national letters of intent today. The players are listed below.

St. Pierre Anilus, LB, 5-11, 210, Jr., Key West, Fla. (Georgia Military College)

Played two seasons for head coach Bert Williams at Georgia Military College...recorded 43 tackles, 27 solo, one sack and three fumble recoveries his sophomore season...had season-best nine tackles in season-opening victory over Blinn College...posted 25 tackles and five sacks in nine games as a freshman...registered three sacks in a victory over Arkansas Baptist College...played for head coach Jerry Hughes at Key West High School...earned first-team all-county honors after finishing senior season with 55 tackles, three forced fumbles, one sack and one interception, while blocking two punts and one extra point...also a state finalist in wrestling.

Dylan Boone, DB, 5-11, 187, Fr., Murray, Ky. (Murray)

Four-year letterwinner for head coach Steve Duncan at Murray High School...helped the Tigers to a pair of regional and district championships...earned honorable mention all-state honors by the Associated Press as a defensive back as a senior...finished season with 98 tackles and three interceptions...selected to the honorable mention all-state team by the Courier Journal as a quarterback...threw for 1,053 and 14 touchdowns, while also rushing for 1,630 yards and 20 touchdowns...named to the All-WKC first team as a defensive back his junior and senior seasons...earned honorable mention All-WKC honors as a sophomore...garnered honorable mention all-state honors as a defensive back by the Courier Journal as a junior after posting 69 tackles and one interception...added 872 yards passing and six touchdowns, and 835 rushing yards and eight TDs in being named to the Paducah Sun All-Region team...selected to the honorable mention All-WKC team as a sophomore after recording 82 tackles and two interceptions.

Garian Bradley, RB, 6-0, 235, Fr., Bessemer, Ala. (McAdory)

Two-year letterwinner for head coach David Powell at McAdory High School...helped team to back-to-back region went a combined 24-4, including reaching the 5A state championship game his junior season...led the team in rushing both seasons...two-time honorable mention All-West selection...rushed for 716 yards and nine touchdowns on 104 carries as a senior...carried the ball 149 times for 773 yards and 11 touchdowns as a junior...rated a two-star prospect by 247Sports.

Ethon Felton, LB, 6-0, 195, Fr., Muscle Shoals, Ala. (Muscle Shoals)

Four-year letterwinner for head coach Scott Basden at Muscle Shoals High School...earned honorable mention all-state honors after helping the Trojans to a 13-2 record and a trip to the state championship game as a senior..finished season with 172 tackles, five sacks and one interception...garnered first-team all-state accolades after recording 164 tackles, four sacks and a pair of interceptions as a junior...registered 158 tackles, five sacks and three interceptions as a sophomore to earn second-team all-state laurels...three-time all-area selection...posted 119 tackles and two sacks as a freshman.

Spent three years at Memphis...appeared in six games in 2013, recording a pass break-up...saw action in 11 games, primarily on special teams, in his first season at UM...played his junior and senior seasons at Southwind High School, after playing his first two years at Wooddale High School...helped WHS to a district championship as a freshman...also a sprinter for the track and field team.

Two-year letterwinner for head coach Steve Campbell at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College...earned MACJC all-star honors after posting 28 tackles and four sacks as a sophomore...registered 20 tackles and two sacks his freshman season...played for head coach Ryan Ross at Ocean Springs High School...garnered second-team all-state laurels after registering 109 tackles and six sacks as a senior...two-time first-team all-district selection...finished with 65 tackles and five sacks as a junior.

Shawn Samuels-Connell, CB, 5-10, 200, Jr., Bainbridge, Ga. (Marshall)

Spent two seasons at Marshall...appeared in seven games and recorded four tackles in the 2011 season...four-year letterwinner for head coach Ed Pilcher at Bainbridge High School...earned all-region honors as a cornerback, punt returner and kick returner his senior year...finished season with 56 tackles, seven interceptions and two forced fumbles...garnered all-state accolades as a cornerback and kick returner his junior year.
