College Basketball: Assistant coaches arrested



The United States Justice Department announced this morning (September 26, 2017) that 10 people had been arrested on charges of fraud and corruption in college basketball. The following assistant basketball coaches were among those arrested - Anthony Bland, associate head coach at USC; Chuck Person, associate head coach at Auburn; Lamont Evans, associate head coach at Oklahoma State; and Emmanuel Richardson, an assistant coach at Arizona.

Jim Gatto, director of global sports marketing for basketball at Adidas was also arrested as was Jonathan Brad Augustine, Merl Code, and Christian Dawkins. Augustine is president of The League Initiative. Code was the head of Nike['s Elite Youth Basketball League as recently as 2013. And Dawkins is a former sports agent.
