Fourth District Tournament Gets Underway

The Fourth District basketball tournament gets underway Monday night at Calloway County High School. The Murray High girls play Community Christian Academy at 6:00 pm and the Marshall County boys play CCA at 7:30.

Murray is heavily favored in the girls game as they have already beaten CCA twice. The Lady Tigers won the first game at CCA back on December 4, 94-38. Then they won the rematch at Murray High on January 14, 77-28.

Murray is led by senior Janssen Starks who averages 25.6 points per game. Julie Thiede averages nine points and seven rebounds. Payton Carter leads CCA in scoring at 11.3 points per game.

Marshall figures to win the boys game without much of a struggle. They have already beaten CCA 91-39 and 62-23.

The Marshals are led by Chase Clark at 19.0 points per game and Austin Renfrow at 13.9 points and 8.7 rebounds. Statistics are not available for the CCA boys.
