CBS Sports is reporting that after league meetings on Monday, August 10 that a high ranking ACC official said the league was "trying to move forward with playing, absolutely."
Although that seemed to be the sentiment throughout the league, no announcement was made after a meeting of conference presidents last night.
"I don't know if there is a drop dead time period [to decide]," the ACC official said. "We don't start play until Sept. 12 as a league."
Three FBS conferences have already cancelled fall sports - the BIg Ten, the Mid-American Conference, and the Mountain West.
"[Canceling football in the next couple of days] could happen for some leagues," the ACC official said. "I'm not sure it's going to happen in the Atlantic Coast Conference."
