Murray State will play Lindsey Wilson at 7 pm on Saturday at the CFSB Center. The Racers come into the game having lost their opener at St. Louis 91-68 on Monday. The Blue Raiders are 2-1.
The teams have one common opponent. Lindsey Wilson lost their home opener to Brescia, 85-71 on October 31. Murray State played an exhibition game against Brescia two days later, and came away with a 102-57 victory.
So far, the Blue Raiders have struggled to shoot the ball from the outside, making just 27 percent of their three-point attempts. And they are being outrebounded by five rebounds per game. Elijah Jordan, a 6-2 guard, leads them in scoring with 24.3 points per game. He is the only player on the team averaging in double figures.
Jordan is hitting an astonishing 73.5 percent of his field goal attempts and 70 percent of his three-point attempts.
The Racers made just 35.9 percent of their shots against St. Louis, and just 30.4 percent of their three-point attempts. They were also outrebounded 38-24. On the bright side, they only committed 10 turnovers.
Jamari Smith, a 6-8 forward, led the way in the opener with 19 points, while Rob Perry had 14, and Kenny White had 10. Smith hit 6-of-11 shots from the field and 3-of-4 three-pointers. Jacobi Wood, a 6-2 guard led the way in rebounding with eight.
The Massey Ratings predicts a 92-51 victory for Murray State.
