Calloway County will host Hopkinsville in the first round of the 4A KHSAA Football Playoffs on Friday, November 20. The Lakers come into the game with a 3-3 record while Hopkinsville is 4-2. The Lakers beat Hopkinsville 14-7 back on September 25.
Calloway comes into the game after a three week layoff following a 33-6 loss to Murray on October 30. Hopkinsville hasn't played for three weeks themselves, having beaten Christian County in their last game on October 30, 21-12.
The Lakers are a run dominant team with just 94 pass plays this year and 169 running plays. Zach Orange leads the team in rushing with 368 yards on 67 carries. Timation Bledsoe has 116 yards on 23 carries. Quarterback Kanyon Franklin has 110 yards on 61 carries.
Franklin has completed 43 of 93 passes for 479 yards and five touchdowns with three interceptions.
Aaron Fennel leads the team with 162 yards on 12 catches and one touchdown. Jaxon McKay has 128 yards on 15 catches and two touchdowns. Keaton Elliott has 118 yards on eight catches and one touchdown.
Hopkinsville is a little more balanced with 107 pass plays and 141 running plays. Jayden Dillard leads the team in rushing with 306 yards and five touchdowns on 70 carries. So, he has about half of Hopkinsville's total carries. Dejuan Mercer has 146 yards and one touchdown on 16 carries. ventrall Baker has 120 yards and three touchdowns on 17 carries.
Quarterback Treyvon Jefferson has completed 47 of 107 passes for 901 yards and 11 touchdowns with six interceptions.
Jesse Reece has caught 20 passes for 523 yards and five touchdowns. Ryan Myers has 212 yards and one touchdown on 13 catches.
The Massey Ratings predict a 26-7 Hopkinsville victory.
