Area Players Among Statistical Leaders

Several boys and girls basketball players from the area are among the state's statistical leaders.

On the boys side, Trigg County's Deonquez Nance is fifth in the state in scoring at 26.4 points per game. Patrick Hubert from St. Mary is 15th in free throw percentage at 80.4 percent.

Hickman County's Morgan Koontz is third in 3-point field goals per game at 2.9. Trigg County's Cole Gardner is sixth at 2.7. Hubert is 12th at 2.5

Fulton City's Jordan Miller is third in rebounding at 13.7 per game.

On the girls side, Murray's Janssen Starks is third in the state in scoring at 25.6 points per game while Paducah Tilghman's Chelsea Shumpert is 11th at 22.9. Starks is also fifth in free throw percentage at 84.4 percent and second in 3-point field goals per game at 3.2. Shumpert is 14th with 2.5 3-point field goals per game.

Paducah Tilghman is sixth in the state in scoring at 65.3 points per game while Murray is 13th at 62.6. Marshall County is 13th in scoring defense as they are holding opponents to 42.5 points per game.

Lone Oak is 13th in free throw percentage at 70.0 percent. Murray is third in 3-point field goal percentage at 38.4. And they are fourth in rebounds per game at 41.0
